I had 2 choices - go it alone and make mistakes or buy an expensive franchise.
No one was offering just lawn care training. So using our 23 years’ experience we now show and train people on how we run our business.

Lawn and Weed Expert Ltd have trained a variety of people (100+ to date) from all sorts of backgrounds - who all wanted to start their own Lawn Care business but without spending a fortune buying and paying royalties to a franchise.
In addition to the training everyone benefits from the support and advice we continue to give people and all are busy growing and developing their own businesses.
Our earliest trainee had over 600 customers after two years and is still growing and enjoying a good living and lifestyle from his business.
Many are just satisfied with the lifestyle and income they generate as a single operator.
Many have larger customer numbers and have people working for them.
This is not a franchise, which usually involves a high purchase price, limits you to a small territory, how you operate and insists you pay royalties from gross sales for the rest of your business life.
Many of the trainees have been surprised at the amount of work in the market and the number of customer enquiries. All are busy growing their businesses.
The market is wide and demand for good lawn care service is very strong. This combined with the low startup cost, high margins and the relatively small amount of capital required to grow the business means that the return you can generate in proportion to the money you have tied up is huge. (The initial cost of basic equipment, materials and marketing is low compared to the sales and profits that can be generated quickly.) There are very few direct costs, most costs are variable and linked to sales.
While you may already have some Lawn Care competition in the area you are considering operating in, we will show how we compete and operate our Lawn care business and continue to easily compete with both franchise and private lawn care companies.
Franchises usually say if you are serious about growing your business you need to concentrate on it and do it full time.
My opinion is that they just want to “lock you in” and leave you without any options.
If you already have an income / Job and do not want to take the risk of resigning without being confident you can make a success out of Lawn Care then it is quite easy to start off part time while you still have an income. Growing your business may take a little longer doing it part time but if you are short of capital then it may be the best way for you.
The answer to both questions is yes!

50 % of the course is hands on practical work - surveying lawns - treating them – meeting enquiries and turning them into customers.
There are no large classes, it is one on one training for a period of usually 5 days – (or more days depending on your ability to absorb information.) Call us to discuss availability and book a slot to do your training – it can be split into blocks of days if that suits you better.
We simply show and train how we run our business including how we plan & manage our marketing, generate enquiries, survey lawns, develop and price treatment programs and put them into action- plus we train you how to carry out the day to day operations including giving you all of the letters, forms and spread sheets we use in our business.
We continue to provide you with ongoing technical support and advice for as long as it takes to get your business up and running. You can even return for a practical refresher course free of charge if you want to?
You can get going for as little as £1,750. –remember there are no other payments or royalties.
The cost of the training course and support varies according to the level of training /support you require.
Option 1: Pay a one off fee of £3,500 for the training notes/manual plus 5 days practical training and ongoing support. Or
Option 2: You can pay a reduced fee of £1,750 some people already have experience of running their own business and only require training on certain technical aspects of the business and not on the practical side.
You will receive the training notes/manual which will give you all the information you require to start and operate your own Lawn care business. What products and equipment to use where to buy them what dosages work best? How to identify lawn problems how to recommend treatment programs, survey cost and quote jobs, marketing and advertising materials we use doing the course of the year. We also provide support in the form of answering any queries or questions you may have by phone or email – we are still here to help. Please remember there are no other payments or royalties.
If you then decide you also need the practical training – you can book the practical side of the course for a further £1,750 see below.
Option 3: Pay for the practical side of the training course for £1,750. If you decide you require the practical side of the training then you can book a week 5 days with us for a £1,750. We can recommend a local very comfortable B&B that will give our trainees a special rate.
