The Mortimer English Club franchise was founded in Herscheid in 1990 by managing directors Karola Scheer and Jürgen Nauditt. Since then, the range of courses offered has been continually updated and expanded. Our unique concept has prevailed. Today, Mortimer has around 300 franchise partners in over 20 countries, making us one of the leading providers of English language courses for children and adults.

Lessons with Mortimer are different

Our approach at Mortimer is to let children learn English like a second native language. That's why we sing, dance, laugh and play in our classes. Even the youngest (from the age of one) develop a great ear for the foreign language, thus later can speak English fluently.

Our courses for older children and adults also focus on motivation and the joy of learning. We attach great importance to comprehension and fluency - this is best done with our specifically developed games in the group. This makes even Business English memorable and comprehensive.

First-class service is standard procedure at Mortimer

After your introductory seminar lasting several days, where you are thoroughly trained regarding our methodology, you will receive an extensive Teacher's Guide for each course. This outlines the teaching content of each class, which materials you will need and how the process should be planned.

The introductory seminar also includes training in various areas of management - legal, tax, organization and marketing. This way you can, regardless of your previous professional background, start your new career strengthened and prepared. Our motivated team will be happy to assist with any questions or problems that may occur, be it regarding lessons or any other area. Together we are strong!

Build your own existence - flexible and tailored

At Mortimer you decide for yourself what your independence should look like. Maybe you would like to teach yourself as a "lone wolf" and see how it works? This opportunity is also possible as a half day activity.

Depending on the demand, you can then decide whether to increase your own number of hours or to hire teachers to assist you. Or you can just start your own language school with permanent teachers, instead of teaching yourself! The decision is yours, we are happy to advise you.
